Get-Together with Drinks & Canapés at the Jügel House
We will meet for the icebreaker in the foyer of the Jügel House, the left-wing of the Senckenberg Museum and Physikalischer Verein. Entering the Jügel House from the side entrance on Mertonstraße 17-21, we will receive our conference badges and gather with friends and colleagues for a social get-together.
The icebreaker will take place between 5 and 8:30 p.m. during which time we will enjoy a selection of sparkling wine (Sekt), wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages accompanied by a variety of vegetarian canapés. Those wishing to go out for dinner after the icebreaker will find many restaurants, serving a variety of international food, in the Leipziger Straße, only a 5-minute walk away.
The subway lines U4, U6 and U7 will bring you to the exit Bockenheimer Warte/Senckenberg Museum. From there it is only a short walk to the entrance of the Jügel House. The Senckenberg Museum itself will be closed during the icebreaker.

About Jügel House
The Jügel House was built in 1906 in a neobaroque style. Prominent exterior and interior features of the building are composed of German Triassic red sandstone (Buntsandstein), excavated from quarries along the river Main about 80 km south of Frankfurt. Between 1914 and 2012 the Jügel House served as the main building for the Goethe University. Since 2014, when it was handed over to the Senckenberg Gesellschaft für Naturforschung, it has hosted the department of paleontology and historical geology.
