Join Us for a Special Conference Dinner & Solar Eclipse

The conference dinner will be held in the Campus Ballroom (“Casino Festsaal”) on Wednesday 12th August, which happens to coincide with a partial solar eclipse that will also be experienced here in Frankfurt during the early evening.
The Campus Ballroom is just a few minutes walk downhill from the main lecture hall building. We begin at 7 p.m. with a “Sekt” reception on the roof terrace of the Campus Ballroom, enjoying a glass or two of German sparkling wine (Sekt).
Solar Eclipse!
At around 7:30, just after the first contact of the partial eclipse, fingerfood appetizers and a selection of drinks will be served (still on the roof terrace) as the “Sekt“ reception merges into the first course of our dinner. Protective glasses will be provided as the partial solar eclipse progresses towards its maximum (90%) that will be reached at 8:13.
At around 8:30 we will descend to the ground floor and find our seats in the Campus Ballroom where the buffet will be officially pronounced open. Later in the evening, a DJ will delight us with feel-good music, during which you are very welcome to dance or otherwise enjoy socialising until the end of the evening, around 1:00 a.m.

During our reception on the roof terrace, should anyone wish to find higher ground for a better view during the maximum of the partial eclipse, we can recommend to try the lecture building (the site of the main conference talks) which is roughly a 3-4 minute walk away and has a west-facing terrace on the 3rd floor.
